Recito is built so that your data stays yours. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. We — the developer — never see your texts, your voice or anything else you do in the app.
The texts you add are stored on your device and, if you are signed into iCloud, in your private iCloud database so they sync between your devices. That database belongs to your Apple ID; the developer has no access to it.
When you practise reciting, Recito listens through the microphone and uses Apple's speech recognition to check your words. Where your language supports it, recognition runs entirely on your device. For other languages, audio is processed by Apple's speech-recognition service under Apple's privacy terms. Recito never records, stores or transmits your voice itself, and nothing you say is kept after the practice session ends.
If you scan a text with the camera, the image is processed on your device to read the words. Photos are not stored by Recito or sent anywhere.
The lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Recito never sees your payment details. Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any of your devices.
Recito collects no data. Nothing leaves your device except through Apple's own services described above (iCloud sync, speech recognition, purchases), all governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Recito does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published in the app and on this page before the change takes effect.
